4 things a Start Up should not do

To be or not to be an entrepreneur is something that almost everyone has wondered at least once in a lifetime. Who wouldn't love to be their own boss? But starting your own startup it's not a path covered only of joy and happiness. In fact, when starting your business we dare to say that you will have to go through a lot of frustrating situations.

In order to avoid you or someone you know drop everything before even starting, here are 4 common mistakes that you should totally avoid.

  • Not being willing to change: When starting with your business idea it's pretty normal that you fall in love with it and that's totally fine, but there is a 99% of chances that you will have to change something about it to make it viable. Most entrepreneurs are not willing to make any modification to their original ideas and that leads to failure, so keep your mind open and adapt or even change your idea if it's needed.
  • Planning too much: Yes it's true that you need a business plan to keep your business in a certain direction but this is not so rigid in startups. Don't spend too much time planning and dithering details of your idea but instead keep in mind that your business plan as you know it will change dramatically over the time so don't let your planning keep you away from finding the right path for your business.
  • Not validating your idea: Before launching your product/service to the market you have to know if it will be succesful or at least if someone is going to pay for it. It is a brutal mistake to launch your product/service to the market before validating your idea so go out there and ask people, use social media, see statistics and everything that helps you figuring out if your idea is actually going to work.
  • Thinking that money is the most important thing: The worst thing to say when you want to start a business is “I can't because I don't have money”. The entrepreneur environment is full of investors willing to help people with their business so don´t get caught in that position, be ready to prove that your idea is actually great and money will come along.

Those are some of the mistakes that most of entrepreneurs do when they are first developing their ideas as a business. To be an entrepreneur is a life-changing experiencie that is worth every single displeasure that comes with it. Are you working on your business idea right now?
